Tirumala darshan · Tiruchanur Padmavathi — The driver takes you up the ghat road to Tirumala (about 22 km, 1 hour after the Alipiri security check), timed for the darshan slot on your ticket. Visa & entry
No visa needed. Carry the original government photo ID used when booking the darshan ticket (usually Aadhaar) for every traveller; it is checked at Tirumala and at hotel check-in.
Good to know
Book the Tirumala darshan ticket on the official TTD website (ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in) as soon as quota opens, usually about three months ahead. Send us your slot time and we fix the rest of the plan around it.
TTD usually enforces a dress code for darshan: dhoti or kurta-pyjama for men; saree, half-saree or churidar with dupatta for women. Jeans, shorts and T-shirts are not allowed in the queue.
Mobile phones, cameras and bags are not allowed inside the Tirumala temple. Deposit them at the free counters before joining the queue.
At Alipiri, all vehicles and bags are checked. Alcohol, meat and tobacco are not allowed on Tirumala; the ghat roads have fixed timings at night.
Srikalahasti, Tiruchanur and Kanipakam close for a short time in the afternoon on some days. Timings change on eclipse days and festivals, so check before travel.
Questions travellers ask
Is the Tirumala darshan ticket included?
No. TTD sells darshan tickets only in the devotee's name with their ID, so please book it yourself online. We include the car up to Tirumala and back.
Can you get us VIP darshan?
No. We do not arrange VIP or break darshan. Please book a darshan ticket on the TTD website, or use the free Sarva Darshan queue.
What if we could not get a darshan ticket?
Sarva Darshan (free) is open to all, but waiting can be many hours. Tell us before you book the trip, and we will plan an extra day at Tirupati if needed.
Can we walk up to Tirumala?
Yes. Many devotees climb the Alipiri or Srivari Mettu footpath. The driver can drop you at the start and meet you on top; please plan this with your darshan slot.
Can we start from Chennai?
Yes. Chennai airport to Tirupati is about 140 km (3–3.5 hours). We can add the Chennai pickup and drop at extra cost.
