Visa & entry

Indian passport holders need a visa for Egypt. Most apply for the Egypt e-visa online before travel (about USD 30 for single entry; apply at least a week ahead). Indians holding a valid, already used US, UK, Schengen, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand or Japanese visa can usually get a visa on arrival at Cairo airport instead (about USD 30). Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date, and you should carry your return ticket and hotel details.

Good to know

Questions travellers ask

Do Indians need a visa for Egypt?

Yes. Most Indian travellers apply for the Egypt e-visa online before travel. If you hold a valid, used US, UK or Schengen visa, you can usually get a visa on arrival instead. We help with the application.

Are domestic flights and entry tickets included?

No. The Cairo–Luxor and Aswan–Cairo flights and the monument entry tickets are quoted separately, because fares and ticket prices change. We include them in your final quote so you know the full cost upfront.

What is the Nile cruise like?

You stay 4 nights on a river cruise ship with an en-suite cabin, a sun deck and a pool. The ship sails from Luxor to Aswan, stopping at temples on the way, and an Egyptologist guide accompanies the visits. Meals are served on board.

Is vegetarian food available?

Yes. Breakfast and dinner are included every day, cruise buffets always have vegetarian options, and Egyptian cuisine has many vegetarian dishes. Tell us about Jain or no onion-garlic needs in advance.

Is Egypt suitable for seniors?

Yes, for seniors who can manage some walking and heat. The cruise is restful, sightseeing starts early to avoid the midday sun, and wheelchairs can be arranged at airports on request.
