A 4-day island trip to Lakshadweep that starts and ends at Kochi, with the return Kochi–Agatti flight included because there is no other practical way in. You spend one night on Agatti, the island with the airport, and two nights at the resort on Bangaram, a small island ringed by a shallow lagoon, with all meals. An entry permit is mandatory for every visitor, and resort rooms and flight seats are limited, so plan at least 3–4 weeks ahead.

Day-by-day itinerary
Fly Kochi to Agatti · Lagoon beach — Report at Cochin International Airport about 2 hours before your morning flight to Agatti (about 1.5 hours on a small turboprop; the flight is included). Your Lakshadweep entry permit and photo ID are checked on arrival, and our local representative takes you to your resort or guesthouse on Agatti. Boat to Bangaram · Island lagoon — After breakfast, take the boat from Agatti to Bangaram (about 1.5–2 hours depending on the sea and boat type; the transfer is included). Bangaram has no village, only the resort, palm groves and a wide lagoon where the water is often knee- to waist-deep. Spend the afternoon swimming, walking around the island or kayaking (optional, paid locally). Lunch and dinner are served at the resort.
Bangaram at leisure · Optional Thinnakara and snorkelling — A free day on the island. You can take an optional boat trip to nearby Thinnakara island or a snorkelling or scuba trip to the reef with a licensed operator (all paid locally, and subject to weather). Early morning and late afternoon are the best times for walks on the sandbank. Watch the sunset from the western beach before dinner.
Bangaram to Agatti · Fly back to Kochi — After breakfast, take the boat back to Agatti (included) in time for your flight to Kochi, usually around midday or early afternoon. Flight times can change and flights can be delayed by weather, so please plan any onward travel from Kochi for the evening or the next day. We drop you at Agatti airport.

Visa & entry
No visa needed for Indian citizens, but an entry permit from the Lakshadweep Administration is mandatory for every visitor. It is applied for through a registered sponsor (we arrange it) with a photo ID and usually a police clearance certificate, so start at least 3–4 weeks before travel. Foreign nationals need a separate restricted-area permit and can visit only some islands, including Agatti and Bangaram.
Good to know
Permit: every traveller, children included, needs the Lakshadweep entry permit. Indian citizens are usually asked for a police clearance certificate from their local police station; please start this as soon as you book.
Flights to Agatti use small aircraft, and the check-in baggage allowance is usually lower than on big jets (often about 15 kg). Pack light and confirm the allowance on your ticket.
There are very few resorts and limited flight seats, so dates fill up early in December–January and school holidays. We confirm the trip only after the flight, resort and permit are all confirmed.
Lakshadweep is a conservative Muslim community. Dress modestly in villages, and swimwear is fine at resort beaches. Alcohol rules are strict and differ by island, so ask us before you travel.
Mobile coverage is limited (BSNL and Airtel work best), and there are few ATMs. Carry enough cash.
Do not collect or break coral or shells, because this is prohibited and protected under law.
Questions travellers ask
Is the flight included in the price?
Yes. The return Kochi–Agatti economy flight is included, because Lakshadweep cannot practically be reached without it. Your travel from Vijayawada or Hyderabad to Kochi is not included; we can book it and quote separately.
How long does the permit take, and what do we need?
Plan for 3–4 weeks. Each traveller needs a photo ID and passport-size photo, and Indian adults are usually asked for a police clearance certificate. We apply through a registered sponsor once your flights and resort are held.
Can non-swimmers enjoy Bangaram?
Yes. The lagoon at Bangaram is shallow near the shore, and snorkelling operators provide life jackets. Always follow the lifeguard's or operator's advice about currents.
What happens if the flight or boat is cancelled?
Weather can cancel flights and boats, especially from May to September. We rebook you on the next available option, but extra nights and fare differences are paid by you, so travel insurance is strongly advised.
Can we stay longer or visit other islands?
Yes. Extra nights on Agatti or Bangaram, or a stay on Kadmat or Thinnakara, can be added if rooms and permits are available.
