Day-by-day itinerary
Arrive Malé · transfer to your resort — On arrival at Velana International Airport, Malé, clear immigration (show your IMUGA QR code), then meet the resort representative at the arrivals hall. Your transfer is by speedboat (usually 20–60 minutes for resorts in the Malé atolls) or by seaplane (about 30–60 minutes), depending on the resort. Seaplanes fly only in daylight. Check in to your beach villa, enjoy the welcome drink and fruit…
House reef snorkelling and lagoon time — After breakfast, collect your snorkelling gear and explore the house reef, where you will often see reef fish, turtles and small reef sharks. The resort's dive or water-sports centre can brief you on safe entry points and currents. In the afternoon, take out a kayak or paddleboard, both included. If you'd like, book a sunset dolphin cruise or a glass-bottom boat trip through the resort…
Move to your overwater villa — After breakfast, the resort team moves your luggage to your overwater villa, usually around midday. Spend the day on your deck and swim straight into the lagoon from your villa steps. A couples' spa treatment is a popular optional extra, and some resorts have an overwater spa. Dinner is at the resort. If you are interested in a special dinner, such as a private beach dinner or an underwater…
Free day at the resort — A free day to spend as you like: snorkel again, read on the deck, or swim in the lagoon. Optional resort excursions, paid locally, include a sandbank picnic, snorkelling trips to nearby reefs, sunset fishing, a local-island visit and motorised water sports such as jet-ski or parasailing. Watch the sunset from your villa before your last dinner at the resort.
Departure from Malé — Have breakfast and check out. Check-out is usually at noon, and the resort times your speedboat or seaplane transfer to your flight. Plan to reach Velana International Airport at least 3 hours before an international departure. The Maldives departure tax is normally included in your airline ticket.

Visa & entry
Indian passport holders do not need a visa in advance. A free tourist visa is given on arrival, normally for up to 30 days. At immigration you need a passport valid for at least one month beyond your stay (we recommend six months), a confirmed return ticket, a confirmed and paid resort booking for your full stay, and enough funds for the trip. Every traveller must also fill in the free IMUGA Traveller Declaration online (imuga.immigration.gov.mv) within 96 hours before the flight lands and show the QR code; no declaration is needed to leave.
Good to know
Resorts charge a green tax of USD 12 per person per night, plus 17% tourism GST (T-GST) and usually a 10% service charge on extras. These are not part of the package price and are shown separately in your quote.
Seaplanes fly only in daylight. If your flight lands late in the evening, you may need a night in Malé or Hulhumalé, or a resort reachable by speedboat. We plan this around your flight time.
Resorts are relaxed about dress code, and swimwear and alcohol are allowed there. On local inhabited islands and in Malé, cover shoulders and knees, wear swimwear only on designated tourist beaches, and remember that alcohol is not sold.
Do not carry alcohol, pork products or religious material for others into the Maldives. Customs prohibits them and will confiscate them at the airport.
US dollars and international credit/debit cards are accepted at all resorts. Carry some USD in small notes for tips; Indian rupees are not commonly accepted.
Use reef-safe sunscreen, and do not stand on or touch coral while snorkelling. Snorkel with your partner, and ask the resort about currents before you go in.
Questions travellers ask
Do Indians need a visa for the Maldives?
No advance visa is needed. You get a free tourist visa on arrival, normally for up to 30 days, if you have a valid passport, a return ticket, a confirmed resort booking and the IMUGA declaration QR code.
Is food included?
Breakfast and dinner are included every day (half board). Lunch, drinks and alcohol are extra. We can quote an upgrade to full board or all-inclusive if you prefer.
Is the transfer by seaplane or speedboat?
It depends on the resort. Resorts close to Malé use speedboats, while those further away use seaplanes, which cost more and fly only in daylight. We will confirm which one applies when you choose your resort.
Can we stay all 4 nights in a water villa?
Yes. Four nights in an overwater villa is a common upgrade, and we will quote the difference for your dates and resort.
Is the underwater restaurant or spa included?
No. Only a few resorts have an underwater restaurant, and those dinners and spa treatments are paid extras. Tell us in advance and we will reserve them for you.
