Day-by-day itinerary
Arrive Dehradun · up to the wellness resort — Your chauffeur meets you at Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport (or Haridwar/Dehradun railway station) and drives you to the resort in Narendranagar, above Rishikesh (about 40 km, 1–1.25 hours). After check-in and lunch, you meet the resort's wellness doctor for a consultation, which shapes your treatment schedule for the stay. Spend the evening settling in; all meals at the resort are included.
A wellness day · yoga, treatments and quiet — The day starts with a group yoga and pranayama session at sunrise, followed by breakfast from the resort's wellness kitchen. Your spa treatments are scheduled through the day according to the programme; between them you can walk the palace grounds, swim or rest. Evenings usually have a short meditation or a talk on Vedanta or Ayurvedic living. Mobile phones are discouraged in the spa and common…
Morning yoga · evening Ganga Aarti in Rishikesh — Follow your morning yoga session and treatments at the resort. In the late afternoon, drive down to Rishikesh (about 18 km, 40–45 minutes) for the evening Ganga Aarti on the river ghats, usually at Parmarth Niketan or Triveni Ghat around sunset. Rishikesh is the town where the Ganga leaves the Himalayan foothills, and the aarti draws pilgrims every evening. Return to the resort for dinner.
A final day of rest · optional Kunjapuri sunrise — For early risers, an optional sunrise trip to the hilltop Kunjapuri Devi temple (about 25 km; the last part is a climb of around 300 steps) can be arranged at extra cost, with views of the snow peaks on clear days. Otherwise, keep to your yoga, treatments and walks at the resort. Before you leave, the wellness team usually gives simple diet and yoga advice to follow at home.
Departure from Dehradun — After a last morning yoga session and breakfast, check out (usually by 12 noon). Your chauffeur drives you to Dehradun airport (about 1–1.25 hours) or to Haridwar railway station (about 1.5 hours) for your journey home.

Good to know
Wellness resorts like Ananda serve mostly vegetarian, low-oil food and no alcohol in the spa areas; tell us about any medical condition or diet when booking.
Higher categories at Ananda (Garden Suite, private villas) or a stay at Six Senses Vana, Dehradun are available as an upgrade on request.
Pack comfortable yoga clothes and walking shoes; the resort provides the kurta-pyjama often worn around the property.
The resort sits at about 1,000 metres; December–January nights can drop to 4–6 °C, so bring a warm layer.
Treatments are planned after the doctor's consultation; some therapies are not advised during pregnancy or with certain conditions.
Hotel names are 'or similar'. If Ananda is full, we offer a comparable wellness resort (for example Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa) and tell you what changes in the programme.
Questions travellers ask
Is this a medical treatment programme?
No. It is a short wellness stay for rest, yoga and spa treatments. Longer Ayurvedic programmes (such as Panchakarma, usually 7–21 nights) can be quoted separately.
Do we need to know yoga already?
No. Group sessions suit beginners, and the instructors adjust postures for age and fitness.
Are temples nearby?
Yes. Rishikesh is about 18 km away, and Haridwar about 40 km. The Ganga Aarti visit is included; temple visits in Haridwar can be added.
Can elderly parents join?
Yes, if they can manage some walking on sloping paths. The doctor's consultation makes sure treatments suit their health.
Does the price include flights?
No. The trip starts and ends at Dehradun airport. We can quote flights from Hyderabad or Vijayawada separately.
